For her solo exhibition SOLAR at Ehrhardt Flórez Gallery, June Crespo collaborated with Alfa Arte to produce a series of aluminium sculptures. These works explore tensions between the industrial and the organic, merging floral morphologies with elements like ventilation ducts and fibreglass textiles. Our foundry cast the aluminium pieces with extreme precision, allowing the artist to manipulate scale and material in order to express dualities such as structure and softness, weight and levity.

Crespo’s sculptural language is rooted in the interplay between bodily memory and material resistance. The casting process at Alfa Arte enabled her to experiment with repetition and variation — producing forms that are architectural, corporeal, and evocative. SOLAR reflects the dynamic fluidity of her artistic practice, transforming rigid materials into porous, affective structures.
