Spanish artist Miquel Barceló’s monumental sculpture Gran Elefant dret—a towering bronze elephant balancing elegantly on its trunk—now graces the entrance to Deutsche Telekom’s headquarters in Bonn. Standing at approximately eight meters tall, this expressive work conveys the idea that even the impossible can become possible.
Unveiled as part of Telekom’s “30 Years of Telekom” anniversary celebration, the sculpture serves as a powerful metaphor. According to CEO Tim Höttges, it embodies “courage, transformation, and balance,” reflecting the company’s values: strength that remains flexible, scale that embraces responsibility, and a vision shaped by curiosity and integrity.
This is one of two full-scale bronze versions cast in Alfa Arte’s Eibar foundry, originally completed in 2009. Constructed from multiple cast segments and assembled into a structurally daring composition, it exemplifies both technical ingenuity and sculptural expression.
