Waterfall is a captivating temporary installation by Daniel Canogar, presented at El Corte Inglés de Preciados in Madrid. The piece features four metal ribbons outfitted with flexible LED screens, cascading down an interior wall to evoke the natural flow of water.
Rather than water, the artwork visualises real‑time global financial data: stock tickers rise and fall across the ribbons, mirroring the relentless ebbs and flows of economic markets. As the LED imagery streams down the surfaces, it creates an ever‑changing digital waterfall—bringing to the fore how complex technological systems can eerily echo rhythms found in nature.
Constructed with flexible LED modules, a computer with custom generative software, and metal supports, Waterfallmerges digital media, data visualisation, and sculptural form into a dynamic public artwork. It underscores Canogar’s interest in how data flows can become sensual and poetic, bridging urban spaces and visual metaphors.
