Termica (2021) is a captivating generative LED installation by Daniel Canogar, located in a building lobby in Madrid. The work visualises real-time weather data—such as wind speed, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and humidity—by animating particles that traverse a tall, fluid LED ribbon.
Lines of varying thickness represent the age of the data: newer inputs appear thicker, while older data fade into thinner trails—an echo of the city’s meteorological past. The higher the data values, the more meandering and dynamic the light paths become, creating a vibrant, living portrait of Madrid’s climate.
