SPINE

Private Collection, Germany

Spine is a striking, generative LED installation by Daniel Canogar, commissioned for a private collection and installed in a two-storey interior space. This vertical ribbon of light responds to real‑time meteorological data from Frankfurt—temperature, wind speed, air pressure, humidity—translating each variable into fluid, organic LED traces.

As atmospheric values shift, the LED particles draw twisting, meandering lines: larger data points produce broader strokes; thinner lines represent older data, creating a living echo of the city’s weather patterns. The installation emerges from the ground floor, climbs through the ceiling, and reappears on the upper floor, evoking the vertical ascent of wind and data.

Constructed from flexible LED screen, generative software, real‑time data feed, computing system, and metal structure, Spine becomes a visual spine of the building—a luminous conduit channeling the hidden pulse of the urban climate.
