POZO XIII (DESDE DENTRO II)
The Feuerle Collection, Berlin, Germany
Pozo XIII (Desde Dentro II) (2017) by Cristina Iglesias is installed at The Feuerle Collection in Berlin. This subterranean-inspired bronze, stone, water & hydraulic sculpture measures approximately 59 × 409 × 209 cm. It is cast with meticulous attention to organic texture, installed flush with the floor to create a visible fracture in the gallery surface.
Precision bronze casting was combined with hydraulic integration, enabling water to flow across the textured void, evoking geological movement and subterranean springs. The interplay of solid bronze and circulating water transforms the floor into a living landscape—light glimmers on rippling surfaces, shadows dance through the trench-like form—blurring the boundary between architecture and nature.
Cristina Iglesias (San Sebastián, 1956) consistently explores subterranean memory, geological strata, and immersive environments through industrial materials and site-specific craft. In Pozo XIII, she continues her exploration of hidden spaces, material tension and the poetics of natural form. The work embodies her longstanding engagement with water, stone and bronze.
