Membranes by Armando Andrade Tudela is a sculptural ensemble which was displayed at Francesca Minini Gallery in Italy. Composed of suspended, irregular forms cast in bronze with patinated finishes, this project showcases our expertise in precision bronze casting and complex mounting techniques. Each sculptural element, part of a subtle choreography of balance and tension, measures between 1.5 to 3 metres, relying on delicate internal armatures to achieve their seemingly floating configurations.

Tudela developed these forms as an exploration of “layered structures” and architectural archetypes—an approach informed by his background in archaeology, architecture, and conceptual art. By translating these ideas into bronze, the foundry enabled the transformation of fragile, temporary gestural sketches into monumental, enduring works. The patination process enhances contrasts between polished bronze surfaces and matte interiors, embodying his thematic tension between stability and organic imperfection.

Armando Andrade Tudela (b. 1975, Lima–based in Lyon) studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Royal College of Art (London) and Jan Van Eyck Akademie (Maastricht), and co-founded the artist-run space Espacio La Culpable in Lima.

His work merges popular culture, political motifs, fine art, and spatial composition, present in collections such as Centre Pompidou, MoMA New York, Tate London and Museo Reina Sofía. Membranes is part of his ongoing series that interrogates the boundaries between mold and cast, cause and effect—where process overrides static form.

This installation highlights Alfa Arte’s capabilities in fine art bronze casting, complex fabrication, patination, structural engineering, and exhibition-ready installation setups.
