LEAVE HERE YOUR FEARS

Mexico City, Mexico

Leave Here Your Fears (2022–2023) is a monumental stainless steel sculpture by Spanish artist Alicia Framis. Fabricated using high-precision metalworking and mirror-polishing techniques, the piece is a conical-structured form—rotating and reflective—measuring approximately 3 × 2.5 × 2.35 metres. The exterior appears minimal and pristine, while the interior houses a participatory mechanism that invites the public to deposit written fears, blending sculptural form with emotional catharsis.

The highly polished surface not only integrates the sculpture into its environment, but also transforms it into an object of introspection. Each fear, submitted anonymously, is collected and later transferred onto large-format canvases. These resulting works have been featured in exhibitions such as “Shake Your Body” (Lago/Algo, Mexico) and at the historic St. Agnes Chapel in Berlin with König Galerie, creating a powerful visual archive of collective vulnerability.

Alicia Framis (b. 1967, Barcelona) is internationally recognised for her socially engaged installations. Her practice often merges architectural language with emotional resonance, addressing themes such as isolation, conflict, and healing. Leave Here Your Fears exemplifies her ability to translate private emotion into public experience—through a refined, interactive, and technically complex sculpture in stainless steel.
